Expenses

There are many expenses associated with attending the School of Law. Direct expenses (tuition and fees) and indirect expenses (living expenses) are used to determine estimated expenses that are allowable by federal regulations. A financial assistance package is based on the total anticipated expenses. Actual expenses may vary. The educational expenses listed on the award letter are based on the cost of living in the Hartford area and the standard of living for the urban Northeast as determined by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Adjustments cannot be made to these average expenses except in the case of child care expenses or unusual medical expenses incurred by the student while enrolled. Requests for these adjustments may be made by submitting an Request for Increase in Budget and Additional Loan Funding with supporting documentation.

Although the School of Law may not be able to offer a package that meets all educational expenses, alternative educational loan programs are available. Eligibility for each program may be based on a lender's criteria such as financial credit and/or current income. Under no circumstances may the total of all financial assistance, including Federal Graduate PLUS Loans, alternative loans, grants, outside scholarship and Stafford loans exceed the budget for educational expenses. The student's eligibility is certified by the Student Finance Office. The final decision to lend the money is made independently by the private loan company.

PLEASE NOTE: Regional tuition applies to students who have been admitted as a student with residency in New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Massachusetts. Students living with parents must adjust tuition if admitted as a regional or out-of-state students. On-campus housing is NOT available.
