Historical Insurance Collection

We are very proud of our historical insurance collection. The collection is one of the strongest we are developing. You can find books like Samuel Marshall's "A Treatise on the Law of Insurance," 1st edition, 1805; Henry Sherman's "An Analytical Digest of the Law of Marine Insurance," 1841; David Hughes's "A Treatise on the Law Relating to Insurance," 1st edition, 1833 and Alexander Amnesley's "A Compendium of the Law of Marine Insurance," 1808. To support your research on the history of insurance and insurance companies, we also keep such titles as "Perils, Named and Unnamed: The Story of the Insurance Company of North America," and "Catholic Knights Insurance Society: The First 100 Years." Aiming to build a comprehensive historical collection for research purposes, we try to collect as many titles as our budget allows. We appreciate the support and help that we have received from companies and private donors. If you have any old insurance books that you'd like to find a nice home for, please contact the Insurance law Librarian.

To find out more about our collection, please log into our online catalog system and do a key word search at Law Library Online Catalog
