| This course is an introduction to the principles and rules of civil procedure governing state and federal courts. Topics include: subject matter jurisdiction; territorial jurisdiction; venue, prejudgment remedies; pleadings; discovery; disposition without trial (summary judgment, settlements); right to jury trial; direct verdicts and new trials; judgments and res judicata; and alternate dispute resolution (ADR).
